About the Role
We currently have a full-time Social Worker within our Safeguarding Hub to support ongoing development, contribute fresh perspectives, and drive forward best practice and innovation within the team. The Safeguarding Hub serves as the single point of access for all adult safeguarding referrals received by the Local Authority. It is responsible for screening incoming concerns, coordinating provider-led safeguarding responses, and addressing organisational safeguarding concerns.
Responsibilities
* Screen and assess adult safeguarding referrals received by the council.
* Coordinate and manage provider-led safeguarding responses in line with current statutory guidance and legislative frameworks.
* Ensure all safeguarding responses are proportionate, person-centred, and compliant with legislation such as the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Human Rights Act 1998.
* Collaborate with other teams and external agencies to deliver integrated safeguarding outcomes.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of safeguarding processes and best practice within the hub.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in adult social care and safeguarding.
* Strong understanding of relevant legal frameworks – Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take ownership and responsibility of safeguarding duties.
* Proactive in resolving issues and embracing change to make a meaningful difference.
