Are you an experienced Haematology Research nurse looking for a new challenge? The Haematology-Oncology (Malignant Haem) Clinical Trials Unit at Hammersmith Hospital is seeking a Band 7 nurse to support our growing portfolio of ATMP, including CAR-T studies for both haematology and non-haematology research studies. Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Research Nurse based within the Malignant Haematology (Haem-Onc) Clinical Trials Unit at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Hammersmith Hospital. The CTU manages an extensive portfolio of commercial and academic clinical trials on haematological malignancies. This position represents a rare and exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with significant relevant experience to provide efficient support to the CTU.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in helping to deliver new, potentially life-changing treatments to our patients, including ATMP therapies. Therefore, it is essential that the applicant has completed an accredited SACT module and has extensive experience in administering Cellular therapies and caring for patients with haemato-oncological conditions. The post holder would work within the structure of the Clinical Trials Unit under the direct supervision of the CTU Lead Research Nurse.
You must be highly motivated and organised, with experience working independently and the ability to multi-task within close deadlines. Previous experience working with haematology[1]oncology clinical trials would be advantageous but is not essential. Computer skills and in[1]depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and research governance regulations are essential.
Main duties of the job
1. To facilitate efficient, safe and participant focused research
2. To contribute to the management of the local portfolio of clinical research Studies
3. To autonomously work with the clinical team to identify and recruit patients suitable for entry into clinical trials having understanding of the clinical patient pathway
4. To ensure safe planning and care of patients according to the clinical trials protocol.
5. To work in according to good clinical practice and research governance standards for clinical research studies.
6. To recognise and act on concerns raised if research deviates from the study protocol or the study design conflicts with legal requirements.
7. To be proficient in the requirements of data collection, data entry, data queries and safe data storage and to provide advice and support to junior staff.
8. To supply data as required to sponsor, principle investigator and research teams.
9. To identify barriers to recruitment and implement agreed action plans as required.
10. To act as a knowledgeable resource in clinical practice and research, promoting an active and effective research culture.
