We are looking to appoint a highly effective and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with pupils across the school in Key Stage 2.
This role will complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for providing short-term cover for whole classes and supervision for classes of pupils in the absence of the teacher, including the delivery of planned lessons and learning activities to support the progress of pupils during PPA.
The successful candidate will be able to motivate and inspire pupils. They will have the ability to work calmly under pressure and to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations. Together with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, they will apply behaviour management policies and strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
Other responsibilities include assisting in the promotion of high standards of behaviour and conduct within the school and to provide support for colleagues through the enactment of school policy and procedures. Supporting colleagues as directed in all aspects of learning, personal development, and emotional literacy both within classrooms and in other defined learning environments.
The successful candidate will:
* Have experience of covering pre-set lessons in the absence of the teacher.
* Be able to manage behaviour appropriately.
* Be able to deliver specific support to raise attainment of pupils.
* Be able to work as part of a team establishing good relationships within the school team and the wider school community.
* Be confident and able to work using your own initiative within a supportive team.
* Have excellent communication skills.
* Provide effective support to all pupils.
* Support the inclusive ethos of the school.
* Have good numeracy / literacy skills.
* Have the ability to demonstrate initiative and good time management.
