As part of the Wastewater team, this role is responsible for leading a team to deliver the day-to-day operations and improvements of wastewater treatment processes covering the Colne South Catchment area.
With the impact of our operations on the environment being at the forefront of everything we do, you will drive improvements in the operations of your sites and the assets within them, looking at ways to change what we do for the better of all parties, mainly our customers and of course the environment.
Through effective leadership, management, and safety of field resources, you will be responsible for monitoring operational processes against set performance and expenditure targets, our regulatory obligations, along statutory requirements.
You will inspire and motivate a multi-skilled team where you will drive a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and engagement in which behavioural safety is embedded.
1. Base location: Maple Lodge – Rickmansworth – WD39SQ – You will be covering the Colne South Catchment area, so travel to additional sites may be required.
2. Working pattern: On-Site - 36 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
3. Full UK Driving License Required.
What will you be doing as an STW Team Manager?
4. Effectively lead the Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture of the team as well as driving and creating an environment where good practices are a way of everyday life and total compliance is adhered to in line with Health & Safety Policy.
5. Ensuring site compliance and the site achieves and maintains its required plant availability and reliability to meet quality targets at the agreed cost.
6. Ensuring the team achieve optimal performance against internal and external targets in terms of work management, including being responsible for developing the team and introducing new skills and Health & Safety awareness.
7. Lead, manage and develop staff to achieve agreed objectives, providing strong leadership aligned with the Thames Water Values.
8. Owning and managing the budgetary and financial activities of the team and driving efficiencies into the overall operational budget to meet the business plan.
9. Ensuring an exceptional service to both our internal and external customers with early personal interventions as required.

10. Significant relevant water industry or utilities experience and understanding of the business is desirable.
11. Ability to lead and develop people within a team.

14. Good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements

16. Good stakeholder engagement and customer focus.
17. Required to complete NEBOSH and MoWWT, as well as AP(D) and WAMITAB if applicable to the site.
