Accountant

Achieving for Children (AfC) is looking for a qualified or part-qualified Accountant to join our Business Services Finance team. This is a great opportunity to shape children’s services through expert financial support across Richmond, Kingston, and Windsor & Maidenhead.

About the role

You’ll support both management and financial accounting – from budgeting and forecasting to statutory reporting and audit prep. Key responsibilities include:

2. Leading financial support for internal services
3. Advising budget holders and delivering financial training
4. Assisting with IFRS-compliant accounts, statutory returns, and treasury support
5. Helping improve systems, controls, and processes

About you

6. AAT qualified or part-qualified and working towards CCAB (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) or CIMA
7. Strong experience in financial/management accounting
8. Confident working with financial systems and non-finance colleagues
9. Detail-focused, proactive, and a collaborative team player
10. Desirable: Local government or children's services finance experience
