Salary: Leadership Scale L8 – L12 (Outer London): £63,117 – £69,239 per annum, plus Teachers’ Pension Scheme

An established secondary academy in North East London is seeking to appoint a Lead Practitioner specialising in Chemistry. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong subject knowledge and a proven track record of success to join the senior teaching team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in improving the quality of teaching across the academy, working closely with the Academy Leadership Team and other Lead Practitioners to raise standards and secure excellent outcomes for students. Alongside leading the Chemistry provision, this role also includes responsibility for overseeing the professional development programme for trainee teachers in collaboration with Heads of Faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and delivery of high-quality Chemistry teaching across the academy.
* Support the professional growth of colleagues through modelling best practice, coaching and mentoring.
* Coordinate and deliver a structured training programme for trainee teachers.
* Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives, including the Academy Development Plan.
* Promote a culture of high expectations, positive behaviour and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will:
* Be an experienced and outstanding Chemistry teacher.
* Have experience of mentoring or supporting trainee teachers or early career colleagues.
* Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Be committed to driving improvement and delivering excellent outcomes for all learners.
