Job Title: Finance Manager Projects Location: Preston, Lancashire. Salary: Circa 55,000 What youll be doing: * Lead the delivery of finance support across a portfolio of Enterprise IT (EIT) projects in line with the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) * Prepare and review project business cases to support financial planning and approval processes * Manage finance reporting cycles, including CSR (Contract Status Reports), SSR (Summary Status Reports), MMR (Monthly Management Reporting), and QBR (Quarterly Business Review) * Provide financial input to project managers and portfolio leads to support decision-making * Oversee internal recharging processes, ensuring agreements, invoicing, and cash collection are completed * Maintain financial control and ensure compliance with finance policies and the Financial Controls Framework * Identify and implement process improvements in reporting, systems, and financial operations * Line manage a Project Accountant, ensuring delivery of required outputs and supporting development Your skills and experiences: Essential: * Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) * Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting * Experience providing finance support for projects or portfolios Desirable: * Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and Coupa * Previous experience leading or managing a team Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The FP&A Team: You will be part of the Shared Services FP&A team within Project Finance Capability, supporting a portfolio of enterprise IT projects that are pivotal to the organisations transformation. This role offers a varied and dynamic workload, involving financial planning, reporting, business case analysis, and stakeholder engagement across multiple projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, portfolio leads, and wider finance teams, gaining broad exposure across the organisation. There is a clear focus on continuous improvement, enabling you to influence processes and contribute to modernising financial operations.
