WAREHOUSE NIGHT SHIFT MANAGER

Location: Heywood, Greater Manchester

Working hours: Sunday to Thursday 8pm-04:30am (40hrs/week)

Salary: £40,000/annum (negotiable)

We are currently seeking a proactive Warehouse Night Shift Manager to lead our client’s night shift team with a focus on health and safety.

Position Overview:

The role of Night Shift Manager plays a key role in our excellent service levels and ensuring that they continue to exceed our target of 98.5% fulfilment. You will ensure all scheduled picking, consolidation, cross-docking and loading operations are completed accurately and on time to ensure that routes depart on time, with the correct products at the correct temperature. We expect our Night Shift Manager to contribute to developing a customer-oriented, solutions-focused team culture and ensure all process and procedures relating to Food Safety, Health and Safety and the company policies are achieved and maintained. We are currently a team of 10-15 on a night shift but this is rapidly growing so we are looking for someone ambitious who wants to continually improve and grow with the business as the leader of a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure the safe, accurate, and timely execution of the Goods-Out operation, in accordance with company policies.
Ensure that the department demonstrates professionalism and delivers a best in class customer experience to both internal and external customers relationships
To recruit, train and develop the team both for new positions and succession planning.
Contribute to the development of a diverse, inclusive, solutions-oriented, and customer service-focussed culture through coaching and mentoring the team and encouraging two-way communication.
Assist the rest of the management team with the day-to-day running of the department and provide cover when required in all areas
To ensure that all product consolidations and cross docks are completed accurately and on time in accordance with loading schedules and manage the loading of delivery vehicles to ensure that routes are loaded in the correct sequence
Maintain all warehouse related equipment in a safe and satisfactory condition, adhering to manufacturers recommendations and prevailing legislation.
Having a continuous improvement mindset, developing processes to improve the productivity of the shift.
Monitoring of team productivity and addressing of any issues
Demonstrate professionalism and general respect in all staff relationships
Conducting initial and refresher training with the team
Ensure that the warehouse appearance is in line with company policies, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and HACCP requirements at all times.
To ensure that all invoicing and route paperwork is completed accurately and on time, in accordance with the route schedule.

To report any accidents and promote best practice in Health and Safety and contribute to ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, workers and visitors on site.
Skills & Qualifications:

Strong I.T and administration skills, numeracy, and a good level of English.
Customer service focus, excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
An action-oriented individual, who is solutions-focussed, can manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time.
A good team player, with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills that follows processes in place and participates in sharing ideas for improvements.
Experience working as a Warehouse Supervisor or Manager, ideally gained within the Foodservice sector.
Experience or knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP procedures and experience with stock control and goods in within a Foodservice, FMCG or other temperature-controlled food warehouse environment.
Experience managing people in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, coaching and mentoring and team building skills.
Experience managing budgets effectively, including cost management.
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
Organised and planned approach to work and the ability to ensure that the team achieve set targets.
