Location


We encourage flexible and hybrid working. This role is based in our Cardiff office and office attendance will be required based on business needs.

Some travel across Wales will be required to support events and capture digital content, with busier periods expected in the year.

We're responsible for Land Transaction Tax and Landfill Disposals Tax. Our work raises revenue to support public services, like the NHS and schools, in communities across Wales. But that's not all, we're also involved with and support future tax design for Wales.

Job description


As a digital communications officer in the WRA Communications team, you'll help create engaging content in Welsh and English that informs, gets people talking and reaches various audiences across Wales.

You'll work with colleagues to help find new topics to create content for and answer questions from the public. You'll use your Cymraeg skills to draft, edit and publish content that speaks to Welsh speakers in their own language.

This role is part of the Government Communications Service profession. We'll help you develop your skills and career through different opportunities, including qualifications, coaching and joining networks with people from Welsh Government and other Governments in the UK.

Person specification

* Help create high-quality and accessible content in Welsh and English to use across digital channels, following our style and publishing guidelines
* Work with colleagues to create content that informs, educates and encourages people to take action, helping us achieve our goals
* Use tools like Canva, Adobe Express and photo editing software to create engaging graphics, animated GIFs and improved images
* Help plan, film, edit and improve video content, including taking videos and photos at events across Wales
* Write engaging copy for our digital channels including social media, newsletters and the website
* Create and manage content schedules to keep a steady flow of engaging content for our audiences, checking how well it's working and changing schedules when needed to reach and engage with more people
* Monitor how people interact with our content and spot trends, collecting information and reporting to help inform our content strategy
* Help the Communications team with checking media coverage, monitoring social media conversations, answering questions and other admin tasks when needed
* Keep up to date with new digital technologies and social media best practices
