Community Nursery Nurses work as a member of the Hillingdon 0-19 Service in the delivery of health education/health promotion whilst supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to families in the borough of Hillingdon. They work closely with children and families who use our services and play an important contribution in our team as well as how people experience our services.
Responsibilities
* Working in conjunction with Health Visitors to formulate care plans for a programme of intervention to be carried out either at home or clinic settings.
* Providing feedback to the Health Visitor when concerns have been identified during contacts with families.
* Participating in the Healthy Child programme under direction of the Health Visitor.
* Supporting in the running of clinics, facilitating developmental reviews and growth monitoring as required.
* Independently carry out developmental reviews in the clinic or home setting: assessing cognitive and language development, hearing, vision fine and gross motor skills, emotional and social development.
* Providing appropriate health promotion, parenting advice and childcare advice to parents and carers when necessary.
* Referring to other agencies such as Speech and Language Therapists, Early support, Audiologist and other child development specialists.
