Based at our Brockworth HQ in Gloucestershire, the Product Quality Engineer will drive product and process quality improvements. They will provide technical guidance to internal customers, team members, and external stakeholders through daily management and operating rhythms, supporting quality objectives to improve first-time yield and reduce losses.
Responsibilities:
1. Owner of quality requirements on a product line supporting operations, programs, and engineering teams.
2. Ownership of root cause identification and corrective actions to reduce the cost of poor quality (CoPQ).
3. Conduct process and product audits and First Article Inspections for assigned product lines.
4. Support daily quality and operations reporting through standard work meetings.
5. Identify opportunities for improvement projects.
6. Support customer communication on appointed product line(s).
7. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for shop leaders.
8. Define quality control and inspection plans.
9. Provide training on production quality and inspection.
10. Knowledge of at least one: composite layup and cure, machining, assembly, non-destructive testing (NDT), or metrology.
11. Experience in quality functions within manufacturing or maintenance organizations.
12. Effective oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
13. Customer-focused with an understanding of customer needs.
14. Good interpersonal and team skills.
15. Proficient in digital tools and data analysis.
16. Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
17. Lead improvement initiatives and process development.
18. Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
19. Demonstrate structured problem-solving skills.
20. Relevant technical education or degree related to Quality or Lean functions.
21. Proven experience in Quality Control, Audit, or Continuous Improvement.
22. Understanding of Lean Principles and methods.
23. Working knowledge of EASA / CAA regulations.
24. Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements.
25. Understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) principles.
26. Certified auditing skills are highly desirable or a desire to pursue relevant certification.
