Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Cadley Hill is looking to recruit a Purchasing Value Stream Manager based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Reporting to the Plant Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Purchasing Team in the management of the existing supplier base and also developing a strategy to improve and expand this in line with the relevant production requirements on site. Also as part of the wider Aerospace Business Units to assist with the coordination and sharing of strategies across the Global Aerospace manufacturing sites.
Tasks & Responsibilites
1. Manage the purchasing and supplier development team to ensure that production materials are procured on time, to the right quality levels and at competitive price levels.
2. Oversee the development of the existing supplier base to improve their performance.
3. Ensure that any resourcing activity involving the introduction of new suppliers is executed in such a way that risk is reduced and ongoing deliveries are not compromised.
4. Ensure that key suppliers are audited in person on a routine basis.
5. Develop long term agreements with suppliers based on competitive total cost of acquisition, quality criteria and service level agreements.
6. Report on Supplier delivery performance to management as well as issue to suppliers for action as necessary.
7. Delivery of Purchasing Excellence programs that mitigate the impact of inflation.
8. Measure shortages preventing production orders being released on time and put in place actions to resolve.
9. Oversees and coordinates Fourth Shift (Local MRP) end-user training in order to ensure that purchasing staff are able to use system efficiently and accurately.
10. Develop stocking policies which minimise the inventory required whilst ensuring that production does not stop due to shortages.
11. Support the implementation of the formal Demand Planning and SIOP process role out on site
12. Lead person for Aerospace purchasing initiatives.
13. Performance manage, develop, coach and lead the purchasing team
14. Support stocktake and cycle counting of stock as and when the need arises.
15. Ensure compliance with relevant environmental procedures and requirements.
16. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation within the job holder’s responsibilities.
17. Adhere to and support all system requirements for ISO 14001 and AS9100.
Candidate Profile
18. CIPs qualified or similar preferred.
19. Degree qualified or Technical/Engineering qualification Diploma or above.
20. Sound knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (particularly where it relates to production planning/scheduling, BOM/BOL creation and purchasing).
21. Able to coach others on the roles and responsibilities of purchasing and production planning/control.
22. Strong administration skills.
23. Strong IT skills proficient in Excel, Access, Word and SQL database.
24. Able to interpret clearly drawings, manufacturing parameters, planning and associated documentation.
25. Develop status reports and recommend to management, plan progress, problems and opportunities requiring thorough attention.
26. Supplier audit trained.
27. Provide monthly executive reports and KPI’s
