Overview
C21 is a busy 39 bedded renal medicine ward. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to positively contribute to patient experience. As one of our ward hostesses you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding care to our patients by ensuring they receive high standards of food and fluids and that they receive care in a clean and pleasant environment. You will do this in collaboration with the healthcare teams as a valued member of the team.
You will also be required to adequately manage the wards stock control, placing regular orders and rotating stock sufficiently.
Responsibilities
Catering
* To offer assistance to patients before and after meals to cleanse their hands
* To ensure each patient receives their correct meal choice and required beverages and can reach these, escalating any concerns or barriers to the registered nurses
* To arrange and co-ordinate additional food as required by the patient as requested by the nurse in charge of the patient
* To lead the serving of breakfast and lunch in a timely manner
Housekeeping
* To facilitate regular decluttering throughout the day including upkeep of patients bed areas, ensuring that the patients lockers, tables and chairs are cleaned and free of litter at all times
* To promote culture of keeping the ward clean and tidy to enable domestics to clean and clinical staff to provide care
* To sufficiently manage stock and rotate as appropriate
