Support Worker
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £83 – £100 per day

GSL Education are seeking a number of Support Workers to work at our Client School in York starting September 2025. If you are currently a Support Worker, with an interest of working in the education sector, this job may be for you.
Support Worker Responsibilities:
* Assist students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, speech, language, and communication needs and social, emotional, and mental health needs on 1:1 small groups basis.
* Work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement and monitor individualized education plans.
* Working with the class teachers to develop sensory, speech, language, and communication needs.
* Provide physical support where necessary, including assistance with mobility, personal care, and feeding.
* Implement positive behavior strategies and interventions to manage and support students’ behavior.
Support Worker Requirements:
* Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher, such as an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
* Have at least 6 months experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in a care of school setting.
* Be a strong and engaging communicator.
* Be compassionate, caring, and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers.
* Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
