An excellent opportunity has become available for a Dental Therapist to join a well-established fully private dental practice in Cockermouth. This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys working within a supportive and collaborative environment while delivering high-quality periodontal and preventive care to a loyal private patient base. The practice has a large private patient plan membership, creating consistent demand for hygiene and periodontal care. Due to growing patient demand and full appointment books across the current team, the practice is looking to add an additional therapist to help deliver ongoing preventative and periodontal treatment to plan patients. About the Practice This independent private practice operates from a beautifully refurbished period building in the centre of Cockermouth and features five modern surgeries equipped with up-to-date dental technology. The clinical team is highly collaborative and includes two experienced therapists already in place - one focusing primarily on hygiene and periodontal care and another working across the full therapy scope. The team culture is described as cohesive, motivated and highly supportive, with a strong emphasis on professional development and clinical standards. The practice regularly hosts: Peer review meetings with the clinical team In-house training sessions (recent sessions include Intermediate Life Support and S3 periodontal guideline training) Visiting clinicians such as periodontists delivering guideline-based education Access to local dental education hub meetings, with course fees supported where appropriate The Role The successful therapist will treat a mix of periodontal, hygiene, and therapy patients, supporting the delivery of care to a large private plan membership. Appointments are structured to allow quality patient care, typically 20, 30, or 40 minutes depending on treatment complexity, with full chairside support from experienced dental care professionals. You will be encouraged to work in line with the latest S3 periodontal guidelines, with mentoring and clinical support available if required.
