Our Bailiff Managers play a critical role in helping deliver justice. This role will enable you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills. You are responsible for making sure your team delivers excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, the judiciary, and management.
Overview
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Responsibilities
* Leading your team, you’ll focus on the team’s area of work, ensuring work is prioritised and organised, and your team is fully skilled to meet objectives. You will recognise the importance of the team’s overall wellbeing and can motivate your team to succeed.
* Contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary.
* Monitor and analyse performance areas and trends, conduct ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices, and confidently recommend improvements. Navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
* Support the smooth running of operational functions throughout HMCTS and contribute to the development of leadership skills through the HMCTS leadership offer (development programmes and bite-size guides).
* These roles involve flexible working patterns and the use of IT, including court case management systems, with training provided as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
* Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
* Experience of working in an administrative role in a customer-focussed environment.
* IT proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Role Details
* New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.
* These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.
* The Bailiff Manager role in HMCTS currently attracts a £1,000 per annum allowance. This allowance is role specific, non-pensionable and can be reviewed, removed and/or changed at any time without notice and would end when moving to a different role.
* Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy.
* Applications for part-time working would be considered; however, due to the nature of the role, the minimum hours would be 30 hours per week over 5 days.
* There are 2 posts available: 1 x Manchester County Court; 1 x St Helens County Court. The reserve list for this campaign will be managed in accordance with location preference, with merit-based appointment for each location and a locational reserve list for 12 months.
