If so, the Vocational Training Centre in Sittingbourne is currently looking to recruit a Qualified Science Teacher to teach Science across KS3 and 4 up to GCSE, to start asap on a permanent contract.
Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school with a clear ethos, where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.
Students within VTC may be facing a variety of challenges that have meant that they have not had successful experiences within mainstream schools. They may have damaged or low self-esteem, social and emotional problems, or additional special educational needs. As a result, they may not be working at an age-appropriate educational level.
Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/SEMH environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
About us
At the VTC, we provide specialist education for pupils in years 10 to 13. Located across 2 sites, we have lots of vocational learning opportunities and post 16+ pathways. Our students are taught in small class sizes of up to 4-6 pupils and all students work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on their needs and ability.
