About the Business

Jade Windows & Doors is a long-established West Yorkshire manufacturer and installer of uPVC and aluminum windows, doors and solid-roof conservatories. Built over three decades as a family business, Jade designs, manufactures and fits high-quality products for homeowners, trade customers and commercial clients across the region, supported by a strong local reputation for quality and service.

Jade has recently joined the Woodlands Home & Garden Group, a 250+ strong UK manufacturing group whose brands include Tiger Sheds, Tiger Modular and Tiger Network. With the group’s backing and investment, Jade is embarking on an ambitious growth plan and is strengthening its team and structure to deliver it. This role is central to that growth


Role Description

The Business Development Manager is a newly created role, central to Jade’s growth plans. Reporting to the Managing Director, the BDM will own new business development across Jade’s three sales channels – commercial contracts, trade accounts and retail (residential) leads.


This is a hands-on, target-driven role for a self-motivated sales professional who can both win new opportunities and build lasting customer relationships. Working closely with the estimating, surveying and operations teams, the BDM will ensure work is quoted competitively and profitably and handed over cleanly for delivery. As Jade scales, the role is expected to grow, and the successful candidate will have a genuine pathway towards broader sales leadership responsibility.


KPI's

Ø Identify, target and win new commercial contract opportunities – including main contractors, developers, social housing providers and commercial refurbishment projects.


Ø Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline, progressing opportunities from initial enquiry through to confirmed order


Ø Develop and grow Jade’s trade accounts, building repeat revenue from builders, installers and smaller trade customers


Ø Oversee the management and conversion of retail (residential) leads, ensuring enquiries are followed up promptly and allocated effectively to the field based retail sales team.


Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, specifiers, contractors and local developers to generate a consistent flow of opportunities.


Ø Work closely with the estimating and surveying functions to produce competitive, accurate and profitable quotations and tender submissions.


Ø Ensure a clean, well-documented handover of won work to the Operations team, protecting the customer experience from sale through to installation.


Ø Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records, and provide regular, reliable sales reporting and forecasting to the Managing Director.


Ø Represent Jade professionally through networking, site visits and industry events, raising the company’s profile across the region.


Ø Achieve and exceed agreed sales and gross margin targets, contributing to Jade’s wider growth and pricing strategy.


Ø Seek and share cross-sell opportunities with the wider Woodlands Home & Garden Group commercial team


What are we looking for?

Ø Proven B2B or commercial sales and business development experience, ideally within windows and doors, fenestration, construction products, building materials or a related manufacturing and installation sector.


Ø A genuine track record of winning contract or commercial work and consistently achieving sales targets.


Ø Confidence selling across channels – commercial contracts, trade accounts and support of retail sales.


Ø Commercial acumen – a clear understanding of margin, pricing and profitable selling, not simply chasing volume.


Ø A strong relationship-builder and networker, credible with contractors, specifiers and trade customers.


Ø Self-motivated and well organised, able to manage own pipeline, diary and priorities with minimal supervision.


Ø Comfortable using CRM systems and producing clear sales reporting and forecasts.


Ø A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.


Ø Ambition to grow with the business, with the potential to progress into a sales leadership role as the structure develops.


What success looks like after 12-months?

Ø A consistent, qualified commercial pipeline is established, and the BDM is winning profitable contract work to target.


Ø Trade account revenue is growing, supported by a base of active, repeat trade customers.


Ø Retail leads are being followed up consistently and converting at an improved rate and consistent 5* star reviews.


Ø Jade has a visible, credible presence with regional contractors, specifiers and developers.


Ø Reliable sales reporting and forecasting is in place, giving the Managing Director a clear view of the pipeline.


Ø The handover from Sales to Operations is smooth, with won work transferring cleanly and no loss of customer experience.


Ø The BDM has demonstrated the capability and ambition to progress towards broader sales leadership as the business scales.
