Job Role: Care Manager
Location: St Albans
Hours: 40 hours per week, rotating shifts (Monday to Friday and every other weekend, with 2 days off during the week). Apply online only.
Overview
Our client is a leading Residential Care Company specialising in Elderly and Dementia Care. As the company continues to grow, this is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Care Manager and develop your career. The role involves supporting the Manager in the daily operations of the home and deputising in their absence.
The Role
* Assist the manager in running the home efficiently and compassionately.
* Be responsible for care standards within the home.
* Directly report to the Home Manager or their appointed representative.
* Maintain appropriate staffing levels and staff mix.
* Ensure all required records are kept in compliance with Local Authority, Health Authority, and government legislation.
* Support the Home Manager to maintain high occupancy levels.
* Take responsibility for fire prevention procedures, equipment, and staff training related to fire safety and emergency evacuation.
* Undertake relevant training and personal development to stay informed about legislation.
* Participate in pre-admission assessments of prospective residents.
* Attend call-outs as necessary to ensure home safety, including out-of-hours support.
* Assess the needs of new and prospective residents and ensure their needs can be met.
* Implement and monitor Care Plan systems.
* Ensure confidentiality of all information.
* Liaise with GPs, nurses, and other professionals.
* Provide and maintain a safe environment and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
* Meet with residents regularly and communicate with care staff on care issues.
* Support families and friends of residents when appropriate.
* Monitor dependency levels of residents.
* Comply with CQC requirements regarding complaints.
