Rolls-Royce Submarines design and deliver systems and equipment to support the Royal Navy in the operation of UK Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) managing all aspects of the plant design, safety, manufacture, performance, and through-life support. Within the In-Service Electrical department, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive technician to join the Test and Trials Section to support the management of test and trials equipment related to reactor control and instrumentation, power systems and plant sensors. Candidates from a broad range of equipment support backgrounds would be considered and specific product-based training will be provided. What you will be doing: You will evaluate technical documentation to understand required through-life maintenance activities. deliver planned preventative maintenance and repairs related to through-life management activities or design changes. be accountable for delivering work packages to agreed time and costs. occasionally visit UK dockyard facilities and submarine platforms, up to a week in duration, working with Enterprise partners and to deploy/operate test and trials equipment. interface with design engineering teams, communicating defects and obsolescence issues. provide technical support to operational teams using test and trials equipment. Experience with the CADMID engineering lifecycle (concept through to disposal). Professional attitude and strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
