Job Title: SEN Teacher with Maths Specialism
Location: The Holden School, Leigh WN7 4SB
Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teacher to join our close-knit team at The Holden School, part of Acorn Education. You will be proactive, resilient, and committed to striving for excellence, putting our students first in every aspect of school life. Our ideal candidate understands the relational and therapeutic approach we take in supporting our students, always remaining professionally curious and recognizing that behaviour is communication. You will also understand the need for our students to learn practically with manipulatives, taking the time to build students’ confidence in Maths.
This vacancy has arisen due to our school becoming part of Outcomes First Group with opportunities to grow within a dynamic organisation. There is potential for further career opportunities and personal development. We welcome applications from teachers early in their careers who have the capability and ambition to be Subject Leads or from experienced Subject Leads who can strengthen our bespoke Mathematics curriculum or take on another subject area as lead.
Responsibilities
* Deliver SEN teaching with a Maths specialism, applying a relational and therapeutic approach to support pupils who have a wide range of needs.
* Utilise practical resources and manipulatives to help pupils learn Maths and build confidence.
* Collaborate with Class Teams, Pastoral Team, and Therapists to implement individualised curriculums and achieve positive outcomes for pupils.
* Contribute to the development of the Mathematics curriculum and, if suitable, take on Lead responsibilities for the subject.
* Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils; comply with all statutory and internal safeguarding requirements.
Qualifications
* QTS
* Degree in relevant subject
* UK QTS or equivalent
