Children’s Social Worker – Kinship & Fostering

Hours: 37 hours
Salary: £35,235 – £39,513 (plus market supplement of £5,000 per year, total £40,235 – £44,513)
Relocation package: Up to £10,000 available
The role
We are seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our countywide Kinship team. Your responsibilities will include assessing Connected/Kinship Foster Carers and potential Special Guardians, supporting these individuals, and collaborating with colleagues to improve placement quality, stability, and support.
Applicants should have prior experience in Children’s Services, preferably in Kinship or Fostering, with expertise in conducting complex assessments for Court/Foster Panel and a strong safeguarding background. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Kinship care and excellent assessment skills are essential.
About the team
The Kinship team focuses on assessing connected person foster carers and Special Guardians, offering ongoing support and supervision, including private fostering and post-order support. We are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and supporting Kinship carers.
Requirements
Fully qualified (SW Degree, DipSW, or equivalent), with at least 3 years’ recent experience in a statutory setting, preferably within Kinship & Fostering. You must be registered with Social Work England and hold a full driving licence with access to a car.
