The role will involve:
In this role, the successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high-quality management accounting and financial insight to support decision-making across the business, and their responsibilities will include:
· Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet commentary, and supporting schedules
· Delivering accurate and timely variance analysis against budget and forecast, with clear explanations of performance drivers.
· Producing concise and insightful reporting for internal stakeholders
· Leading and supporting the annual budget preparation process
· Supporting regular reforecasting and rolling forecast processes
· Challenging assumptions and improve the quality and robustness of budgets and forecasts
· Analysing cost and revenue trends, identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
· Supporting development of financial models and scenario analysis where required
· Contributing to performance reporting and KPI development
· Providing financial support and insight to operational teams
· Maintaining cashflow forecasts
· Maintaining strong financial controls and reconciliation processes.
· Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes, reporting, and systems
· Assisting with audit and year-end activities as required
What we are looking for:
Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
· Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
· Proven experience of budget preparation and forecasting. Highly proficient in variance analysis and performance reporting
· Experience providing financial insight to non-finance stakeholders, supporting operational and commercial decision-making
· Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
· Strong understanding of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
· Substantial hands-on experience in a management accounting role, with end-to-end responsibility for month-end processes
· Experience contributing to process improvement, systems development, or reporting enhancements
· Commercially aware, curious, and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively
· Proactive and well organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
· Collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships across the business
