Joining our Project Management Office (PMO) team in either Manchester or Gloucester, this role requires excellent stakeholder management, organisation skills, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, PMO, Business Development and, the leadership team.
About the Role: Bid Co-ordinator (Pathway to Project Management)
In this role, you’ll play a key part in coordinating bids and proposals working closely with the Business Development, PMO and, Engineering functions as well as senior stakeholders.
Over time, you’ll gain exposure to project planning, delivery processes, and stakeholder management, with clear scope to develop in time into a Project Manager as your skills and experience grow in the following areas:
1. Coordinating the end-to-end bid and proposal process
2. Managing bid schedules, deadlines, and submission milestones
3. Gathering inputs from technical, commercial, and delivery teams
4. Ensuring bid documentation is accurate, compliant, and high quality
5. Supporting and maintaining bid libraries, templates, and supporting materials
6. Lead kick-off meetings, reviews, and post-bid handovers
7. Gaining exposure to project planning, risk management, and delivery preparation
8. Continuously improving bid processes and ways of working

Skills and Experience
9. Experience in a coordination, administrative, or junior project role (bids experience is a plus, but not essential)
10. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
11. Excellent written communication and attention to detail
12. A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
13. Confidence working with a variety of stakeholders
14. Interest in developing a career in project management
15. Familiarity with tools such as MS Office, SharePoint, or collaboration platforms
16. Any exposure to bids, proposals, or project environments is beneficial but not required
17. Capable of achieving SC clearance (with looking to gain DV in future)
Learning & Progression
18. This role is designed as a development opportunity. You’ll receive hands-on experience, mentoring, and exposure to delivery teams, with opportunities to:
19. Learn project management fundamentals and methodologies
20. Support project planning and mobilisation activities
21. Take ownership of small workstreams or internal projects
22. Work towards relevant certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, Agile)
23. Progress into a Project Manager role over time
Responsibilities:
24. Budget and cost control through weekly monitoring of labour / expenses to ensure correct time bookings and carry out variance to forecast analysis
25. Document and records management via maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation such as client forecast trackers
26. Financial Reporting by assisting the Project Managers with quarterly EACs and validating CIP balances
27. Support new business opportunities through financial modelling
28. Invoicing and billing of Monthly approval of client billing for all costs /expenses hitting specific projects.
29. Submit forecasts to clients in line with deadlines
