Reporting Radiographer, Radiology, X-Ray Lead

An exciting and excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Reporting Radiographer to join the Radiology team at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust
The post has been developed to support the current reportingteam and Lead the X-ray service at The Alexandra Hospital. We have a team of 10 reporting Radiographers,led by a Consultant Radiographer.
The team currently manage over 75 % of the plain filmreporting which includes running a daily hot reporting service to the 2Emergency Departments and 4 Minor Injury Units.
Our Consultant Radiographer is an international lecturer inplain film reporting and regular visiting lecturer at several universities.Reporting radiographers in the trust are supported with on-going training and expandingscope of practice, as part of this we expect reporters to work towardsqualification in reporting all body parts.
We are a forward-looking department committed to trainingand role development with a 4 tier system. We want to develop advanced practicewithin the department and would therefore expect the post holder to participatein teaching and audit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, however will be required to travel around the trust offering teaching and support when necessary.
The appointment, if full-time, will have a minimum of 5 dedicated reporting sessions each week. We are working towards 7-day reporting and we do offer home reporting. There will be a flexible approach to meeting the reporting requirements over a 7-day period.
The successful candidate will be required to support in both a clinical and managerial capacity and will be required to support our out of hours duties as part of the Radiology departments key service provision. There is an expectation that the appointed candidate will support other services within Radiology (according to knowledge and skills) and as a Senior staff member will be required to support the leadership team as and when required.

Job responsibilities
As a band 7 Radiographer at Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust(WAHT), there is an expectation that you will use your experience andknowledge to support both the staff and service users where appropriate. Thisalso includes any modality leads, site leads and senior managers.
As such you will be expected to:
Maintain clinical skills and service provision withindesignated specialities.
Support the department in delivering continuous high qualityclinical care.
Demonstrate a high level of expertise within relevantmodalities/area, providing training, advice, education and support to staff.
Be responsible for ensuring the effective management andleadership of required services which will include organising workload,staffing and appropriate stock control within these areas.
Ensure operational standards are met to maintain effective andprogressive service delivery.
Demonstrate effective communication with all staff including site/modalityleads.
Ensure, in line with site leads, staffing levels are managedappropriately maintaining a safe, efficient and responsive service within yourspecific area.
Support and where appropriate, lead in the on-going developmentof clinical practice and standards of care within a specific service, includingthe development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines incollaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
Contribute towards service development and undertake clinicalaudit activity within specialist services as required.
Where appropriate, support in the delivery of complex imagingtechniques using advanced technologies, recording or reporting on the outcomes.
Act as a specialist resource and provide specialist advice inrelation to care of patients within your appropriate speciality(s).
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc in Radiography or the DCR(R)
* HCPC Registration
* Post Graduate qualification in at least 1 aspect of plain film reporting from: Chest, Abdomen and Musculoskeletal.
