We are looking for resilient, skilled Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Skelmersdale. You’ll be supporting an individual with complex needs and behaviours that can be challenging, providing consistent, high-quality care both at home and in the community.
This role is about more than just care – it’s about building trust, promoting independence, and helping someone live a fulfilling life. The person you’ll be supporting enjoys shopping, dancing, and going to discos, so you’ll play an important role in planning and encouraging these activities.
You’ll need to feel confident in using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and working as part of a close-knit team to ensure safety, dignity, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 2:1 support with personal care, daily living tasks, and community engagement.
*
Follow and implement PBS plans to reduce behaviours of concern.
*
Support the individual to access and enjoy leisure activities such as shopping, dancing, and discos.
*
Maintain accurate records (daily notes, incident reports, and care plans).
*
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent support, especially during challenging situations.
*
Take part in rota-based shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, waking nights, and sleep-ins.
Essential Requirements
✅ Previous experience supporting people with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
✅ PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training.
✅ High levels of resilience, patience, and calm under pressure.
✅ Strong communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships through consistency and trust.
✅ Team player with a proactive, compassionate approach.
Desirable: Experience in a similar setting
