Shift Team Leader – Biomass Power Plant

Salary: £49,276 per annum
Shifts: Rotating shift pattern (24/7 operation)

Jackson Hogg is supporting a key Shift Team Leader appointment at a biomass power generation facility operating in a continuous 24/7 environment.
This role will suit an experienced process or power operator who is already operating at, or ready to step into, a senior shift‑based leadership position with real accountability.
The Role
* Full responsibility for safe and efficient plant operation during shift
* Monitoring and control of plant systems via DCS / SCADA
* First‑line fault diagnosis and minor operational maintenance
* Acting as Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for isolations and permits
* Managing emergency response, incident reporting and escalation
* Coordinating operational activity with engineering and maintenance teams
* Ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance
* Completing detailed shift logs, reports and handovers
Experience & Background
* Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
* Operational experience in biomass, EfW, power generation, process, marine or petrochemical environments
* Strong safety‑first mindset with experience of Safe Systems of Work
* Confident communicator with the authority to lead on shift
* IT‑literate for reporting and compliance documentation
