Service Desk Technician

Initial 12 Month FTC with opporutinity to move permanent following this.
A well-established international engineering business is looking to recruit a Service Desk Technician to join its IT function based in Worcester.
This role suits someone with solid experience in 1st and 2nd line IT support who enjoys working in a customer-facing environment, resolving technical issues, and contributing to the smooth running of IT services across a European user base.
The role
1. Deliver first and second line technical support to end users across multiple European locations
2. Receive, log and manage support requests through a central service desk system
3. Take full ownership of incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
4. Provide support across desktop, laptop, peripherals, software and user access issues
5. Assist with hardware provisioning, system upgrades, patching and security-related updates
6. Work closely with senior IT colleagues and global teams to escalate and resolve more complex issues
7. Create and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge base content
8. Support ongoing improvements to IT processes and service delivery
About you
9. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a service desk, desktop support or IT support role
10. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
11. Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft
12. Some exposure to scripting or automation within an IT support environment
13. Well organised, able to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
14. A proactive, customer-focused mindset with good communication skills
15. Comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative IT team
16. Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
