An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and autonomous senior practitioner to join the Trust as the Lead Practitioner/Nurse for the Learning Disability & Autism Team. We are looking for a visionary and empathetic Practitioner/Nurse with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges that people with learning disabilities and autistic people face in an acute hospital environment.
Applications are invited from Learning Disability Registered Nurses, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Nurse, Midwife or AHP with a minimum of 2 years current experience in an acute hospital environment at Band 7 level, related to Learning Disabilities and Safeguarding.

Responsibilities
* Improve the quality of care received by individuals with a learning disability and autistic people within the acute hospital setting.
* Act as a role model and clinical expert within the speciality of learning disability and autism nursing across all areas of the Trust.
* Support clinical staff in the management of care planning for patients.
* Demonstrate leadership, effective organisational skills and highly developed communication skills; interact with a wide variety of professional backgrounds.
* Play a pivotal role as a key member of the leadership team in shaping care and the patient experience for people with learning disabilities and autistic people within the Trust.
Qualifications and requirements
* Learning Disability Registered Nurse, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Nurse, Midwife or AHP with a minimum of 2 years current experience in an acute hospital environment.
* Experience related to Learning Disabilities and Safeguarding.
* Strong commitment to delivering safe and equitable care and meeting statutory responsibilities.
