Job description

Key activities will include

* Line management responsibility, ensuring team members are adequately trained on systems, processes, and compliance requirements
* Proactively engage with direct reports in regular 1:1s to consider and support their wellbeing, performance and development, ensuring HR procedures are adhered to and in line with MOD procedures.
* Lead, Develop and support the team, allocating workload, setting priorities.
* Lead and participate in meetings, overseeing collection strategies to reduce aged debt, taking an active role in high value cases, escalating overdue accounts and ensuring effective resolution of disputes and aged transactions.
* Monitor & review performance against targets, act promptly keeping teams remedy work queue on track and manage risks.
* Collaborate with commercial partners UK and Foreign and other DBS business teams to maximise performance and recovery.
* Contribute to the debt management strategy. Help build & develop customer relationships creating a positive image of DBS through regular customer dialogue.
* Actively input and promote the business area continuous improvement plan, identifying process bottlenecks, driving improvements to reduce errors, increase efficiency, and enhance customer experience and a continuous improvement culture.
Person specification
* Successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm and be adaptable, efficient and strong team players with attributes towards:
* Strong people leadership with organisational and analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills - ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally to a variety of stakeholders and customers
* Strong time management skills - ability to work independently and as part of a team, successfully managing and delivering against competing priorities.
* Strong motivational skills
* Good customer service skills.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel.

Desirable Experience

* Experience of managing people.
* Actively pursuing and managing debt
* Experience of Oracle, Cognos reports, Power point and Excel
