Salary: £23,748 - £25,626 per annum (NYP Scale 2-3)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
We’re looking to appoint a Finance Support Officer to our collaborative Finance Team, supporting North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. You'll be part of a supportive team working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on transactional processing. Flexibility, accuracy, and teamwork are key - especially during busy periods in the financial calendar.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Act as a first point of contact for finance queries, delivering efficient and courteous support.
* Assist in the processing of Accounts Payable and Receivable transactions, ensuring compliance with legislation and financial regulations.
* Provide guidance on financial policies including the Devolved Resource Management Manual (DRM) and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Maintain accurate and manipulable financial data inputs.
* Support in developing and operating financial controls to ensure robust governance.
* Manage correspondence and assist with general administrative duties across the team.
* Work proactively to streamline financial and administrative processes.
Requirements
To be successful in the role you will:
* Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advise non-financial colleagues.
* Demonstrate attention to detail in financial systems and work effectively within tight deadlines.
* Be motivated, organised, and committed to delivering results.
* Be confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
