You will contribute across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development through to operations, by:
* Building and refining simulation models for key components such as wind turbines, plant controllers, and grid interfaces (HVAC/HVDC systems, FACTS devices where relevant)
* Carrying out power system assessments in PSS/E, including steady-state, fault, and dynamic performance studies
* Running detailed EMT simulations in PSCAD to analyse system behaviour under disturbances, switching events, and control interactions
* Handling OEM and vendor models, ensuring correct setup, validation, and ongoing management
* Producing structured, high-quality technical documentation suitable for both internal review and external compliance requirements
* Interpreting study results, identifying risks, and proposing practical engineering solutions
* Ensuring consistency with established engineering standards, methodologies, and QA processes
You must hold the below
Academic background in Electrical or Power Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Around 5+ years of hands-on PSCAD experience focused on EMT analysis
Solid working knowledge of PSS/E for network and dynamic studies
Experience dealing with third-party/OEM models, including parameterisation and validation
Familiarity with automation tools or scripting (e.g. Python, MATLAB) to improve workflow efficiency
