Join Tetra Tech's dynamic team in Belfast. You will lead and support projects from inception to handover, collaborate with multi-discipline teams, and benefit from development and mentorship opportunities provided by senior leadership.
To be a member of the Tetra Tech Safety Management Team, you will provide CDM Safety Management services under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and NI 2016, acting as Principal Designer and Client CDM Adviser, and provide General H&S Safety Management services. Project sectors include Residential, Healthcare, Local and Central Government, Defence, Transport, Environmental, Commercial and Education.
Job Content
* Experience in the regulatory role of Principal Designer and the non-regulatory roles of Principal Designer Support and Client CDM Adviser under the CDM Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and NI 2016.
* Ability to fulfil all Principal Designer duty holder requirements under CDM 2015/NI16.
* Capability to integrate into both the Safety Management team and the wider Tetra Tech family.
* Proactive, comfortable and able to liaise with Clients, Designers, Contractors and Principal Contractors on health and safety in design and construction when working as the Principal CDM Adviser on construction projects.
* Proactive, comfortable and able to liaise with workers, senior management and all interested parties on health and safety matters when working as a Principal H&S Adviser.
Previous Experience
* Experience of working as a Principal Designer and Client CDM Adviser under the CDM Regulations is essential.
* Experience of working as a General H&S Adviser under UK H&S Legislation is essential.
* Demonstrable experience across relevant sectors in the construction industry.
* Demonstrable experience of undertaking Construction Site Health and Safety Inspections and Advice is essential.
* Experience delivering CDM and General H&S training is desirable.
Technical Knowledge and Skill
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of CDM 2015/NI16.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Construction Health and Safety Management.
* Holder of a full, clean driving licence (due to the nature of the work involved).
Educational Requirements And Professional Qualifications
* Be professionally qualified to NEBOSH or equivalent standards.
* As a minimum, have successfully completed the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or the National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
* Hold appropriate professional memberships (e.g., IOSH, APS, CIOB, IIRSM, IRM, IRSM).
* As a minimum, be a Technician Member of IOSH (Tech IOSH) and an Incorporated Member of the APS (IMaPS).
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and maintenance of skills.

* Diligent with strong attention to detail.
