Purpose of the Role
To act as the central translator between business requirements and technical delivery, ensuring that all changes are well‑defined, aligned, functional, tested, and documented. The Head of Product & Delivery owns the roadmap, manages dependencies across systems, and provides leadership to BI, development, data, and operations functions. This role ensures that firefighting is balanced with long‑term improvement and that delivery teams understand both the what and the why.
Key Responsibilities
* Product Ownership & Requirements
o Gather, clarify, and challenge business requirements.
o Translate business requests into Jira stories with triggers, logic, exceptions, scheduling, and tracking.
o Provide documentation, acceptance criteria, and context so the team can deliver effectively.
o QA outputs across BI, development, and data before release.
* Roadmap & Delivery Oversight
o Own the product/delivery roadmap, balancing short‑term fixes with long‑term changes.
o Prioritise based on business impact, risk, and dependencies.
o Coordinate cross‑functional delivery across BI, development, data, and operations.
o Sprint / backlog management.
o Report progress, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership.
* Leadership & Team Management
o Lead and coach managers and analysts across BI, development, data/finance, and systems.
o Ensure the team understands the context and value of business requests.
o Act as escalation point and ensure delivery quality.
* Strategic Planning & Change
o Identify opportunities for system replacement, adoption or upgrades.
o Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
o Balance firefighting with long‑term planning.
