About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team and lead SEND provision across both our Epsom and Walton sites. This is an exciting opportunity to shape high‑quality SEND practice for pupils aged 5–19, working closely with the Headteacher, SLT, therapy team, and a wide range of external professionals.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every pupil with SEND receives the tailored support, high‑quality teaching, and strategic oversight they need to thrive.

As SENCO, you will take the lead on the strategic development and day‑to‑day coordination of SEND provision across both sites. You will oversee EHCP processes, ePEPs, pupil progress tracking, interventions, and staff development, ensuring our provision meets statutory requirements and reflects best practice.

This role requires a confident communicator, a strong organiser, and someone passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

What you will be doing

1. Lead and coordinate SEND provision across both sites, including EHCP processes, Annual Reviews, and compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
2. Track, monitor, and analyse pupil progress, overseeing baselining, screening, and targeted intervention programmes in literacy and numeracy.
3. Organise and chair all ePEP meetings for looked after children, ensuring progress, compliance, and effective use of Pupil Premium Plus funding.
4. Provide strategic leadership on SEND policy, Teaching & Learning development, and the graduated approach in collaboration with the Headteacher and therapy team.
5. Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, staff, and external agencies, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate, up‑to‑date SEND records.
6. Identify staff training needs and contribute to the school’s CPD plan, supporting high‑quality teaching and inclusive practice.
7. Ensure learning environments, curriculum materials, and teaching approaches meet pupils’ needs and reflect their backgrounds and cultures.
8. Contribute to whole‑school planning and reporting, including the SEN Information Report, Pupil Premium Plus impact statement, and the annual SEN improvement plan.

What you will bring

9. QTS or equivalent required
10. A qualified SENCO (or working towards the qualification) with strong experience in SEND leadership.
11. Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities.
12. A collaborative leader who can work effectively with SLT, teachers, therapists, and external agencies.
13. Someone who is organised, proactive, and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
14. Driving licence required
