Greenmeadow Community Farm, one of Cwmbran's local treasures, is looking for a dynamic and proactive Duty Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service in a unique farm environment.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the Farm, ensuring high standards across all departments. You'll be responsible for the health and safety of staff, volunteers, and visitors, and play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise staff and volunteers to deliver excellent customer service.
* Manage site cleanliness, safety, and maintenance.
* Coordinate staffing and training in liaison with managers.
* Act as key holder, responsible for opening/closing and cash handling.
* Respond to customer queries and complaints professionally.
* Oversee health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency plans.
* Support special events and daily farm operations.
* Deputise for the Farm Director and Commercial Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in people and premises management.
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
* Flexible, resilient, and customer-focused approach.
* Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays as required.
