Job Title: Construction Associate (Non-Contentious) – 5–8 PQE Location: London Department: Projects & Construction Status: Full-time, Permanent About the Firm We are a market-leading, Tier 1-ranked law firm with a premier construction and projects practice. Our London team advises on some of the UK and Europe’s most high-profile development, regeneration, and infrastructure projects. Recognised for our commercial approach and deep sector insight, we act for a broad range of blue-chip clients including developers, real estate funds, institutional investors, and major corporates. Due to sustained growth and an exciting pipeline of development work, we are seeking a talented 5–8 PQE associate with a focus on non-contentious construction law to join our London office. The Role You will work as part of our top-tier non-contentious construction team, advising clients on complex, high-value construction and development projects across the commercial real estate, residential, infrastructure, and energy sectors. The role involves: Drafting and negotiating standard form and bespoke construction documents, including: Building contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke) Professional appointments (RIBA, ACE, bespoke) Collateral warranties, third-party rights schedules Development agreements and agreements for lease Advising on procurement strategies and risk allocation across the project lifecycle Supporting real estate, corporate and finance teams on the construction aspects of transactions Managing multiple projects for high-profile UK and international clients Providing strategic input during early-stage project structuring and development Liaising directly with clients, consultants, and counterparties Supervising junior lawyers and contributing to internal training and development Supporting business development initiatives and thought leadership in the market Candidate Profile We are looking for a confident and commercially-minded lawyer with strong experience in non-contentious construction. The ideal candidate will have: Key Requirements: Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales 5–8 years’ post-qualification experience at a leading construction, real estate, or projects practice Strong technical knowledge of construction law and standard forms (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, etc.) Experience advising developers, investors, and institutional landowners on UK-based development and regeneration projects Excellent drafting skills and the ability to manage complex documentation Client-facing experience with a proactive, problem-solving mindset Strong team ethos and ability to work across disciplines Ability to supervise junior associates and trainees Why Join Us?
