Joining our Flight Instructor Team at our Cranfield site you will carry out synthetic training instruction for:
1. The issue of a licence
2. The issue, revalidation or renewal of an IR and a class or type rating for single-pilot aircraft (except for single-pilot high performance complex aeroplanes)
Your core tasks will be based in our onsite Flight Simulator devices conducting each training event in accordance with the approved syllabus, and in compliance with the Academy published schedule/programme. You will uphold flight safety in every aspect of training and encourage a ‘just culture’ amongst colleagues and trainees, ensure each trainee is appropriately briefed and prepared for each training event and conduct a debrief after completion of the event, complete applicable reports promptly after every training event and monitor every assigned cadet’s progress and report any training performance problems to the CFI or designated representative.

What the role will involve
11. Ensure the Academy’s standards are promoted and maintained throughout training
12. Monitor the maintenance condition of the simulators and report any defects to operations as soon as possible
13. Observe the highest standard of professionalism in every aspect of this role
14. Maintain valid personal licenses and ratings
15. Maintain an accurate and true copy of a personal training record and documentation
16. Attend administration, standardization and periodic/annual training as required by the CFI
Essential skills and experience:
17. Flight instructional experience at ab-initio level:
18. Experienced in delivering VFR and/or IFR training on the SEP / MEP aircraft
19. Maintain an effective level of professional instructional skills
20. Flexibility to adapt learning/teaching styles and to differentiate between trainees
21. Strong customer care skills
22. Knowledge of EASA / UKCAA regulations
23. Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
24. Ability to deal comfortably with diverse cultures
Qualifications requirements:
25. Minimum UKCAA STI - essential
26. Have completed in an FNPT the relevant proficiency check for the class (MEP) or type rating, within a period of 12 months preceding the application.
27. Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4

28. Hold, or have held within the 3 years prior to the application, a pilot licence and instructional privileges appropriate to the courses on which instruction is intended.
29. Have completed in an FNPT the relevant proficiency check for the class or type rating, within a period of 12 months preceding the application.
