As our Head of Underwriting, you'll be a key senior leader, driving profitable growth, strengthening broker and client relationships, and ensuring regulatory excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:
* Drive Strategy: Define and execute underwriting strategies that balance growth, profitability, and risk appetite.
* Lead the Team: Motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team of underwriting professionals while creating a positive and inclusive working environment.
* Shape the Portfolio: Oversee and refine underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and product innovation, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
* Collaborate & Innovate: Work with brokers, clients, and cross-functional teams to strengthen relationships while introducing cutting-edge technology and digital tools to optimise processes.
* Governance & Compliance: Ensure all underwriting activities align with FCA regulations and company policies, safeguarding our reputation and embedding a strong culture of risk management.
What We're Looking For:
* A proven leader in General Insurance underwriting with experience across multiple product lines (e.g., Motor, Home, Liability, or Specialty).
* Strong technical expertise in underwriting strategy, portfolio management, reinsurance, compliance, and governance.
* Someone with an innovative mindset who has led initiatives in technology transformation or digital tools in underwriting.
* Holds a Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII) (Advanced Diploma or Specialist Certificates are a bonus!).
* A collaborative, strategic professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and brings exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

The salary for this role is £85k+ which is negotiable depending on experience.
