This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, improve emotional wellbeing, and thrive both in and out of the classroom. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Support students with anxiety, trauma, behavioural challenges, emotional regulation and wellbeing. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and resilience. Work alongside teaching staff, SEN teams and pastoral leads to implement support strategies. Assist with behaviour support plans and interventions. Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Support pupils in developing confidence, coping strategies and positive social skills. Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to school staff where appropriate. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals in education, care, youth work or mental health settings. A calm, patient and empathetic approach. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A passion for supporting young people's wellbeing and development. Understanding of SEMH needs, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice is desirable.
