Overview
We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join a busy and forward-thinking manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for setting and running moulding production orders, ensuring consistent high-quality output. You'll play a key role in achieving Right First Time and Just in Time manufacturing, working with advanced moulding techniques and standardised processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and condition injection mould tools to meet production requirements
* Run production orders using pre-set programmes, monitoring output quality throughout the shift
* Respond to machine alarms and faults, implementing permanent corrective actions
* Carry out routine maintenance and fault finding on injection moulding machines and tooling
* Control and optimise processing parameters in line with product standards and cost requirements
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance, production, and quality checks
* Support supervision of shift staff when required in the absence of a Supervisor
* Prepare auxiliary equipment, jigs, fixtures, and assembly machines
* Perform quality checks in line with company standards and identify defects
* Carry out first-line troubleshooting of process and quality issues
* Ensure safe handling and accurate movement of materials and stock
* Support tooling trials, processing, and optimisation for new projects
* Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience within and Injection Moulding environment
* Good knowledge of modern injection moulding machinery, robotics, tooling, finishing equipment, printing, assembling
* Minimum 3 years' experience as an Injection Moulding Technician
* Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding capability
