A warm and inclusive primary school in Halewood is looking for a skilled Teaching Assistant with expertise in Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). About the Role
Provide full-time support to pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
Work closely with the SENCO and external therapists to deliver targeted interventions.
Support children across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, offering both 1:1 and small group assistance.
Help pupils build confidence, improve expressive language, and strengthen social interaction skills.
Track progress, contribute to learning plans, and adapt strategies to individual needs.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be someone who:
Has previous experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties.
Can deliver structured interventions confidently; experience with visual supports or Makaton is desirable.
Brings patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging approach.
Is confident working across a range of age groups and adjusting support as needed.
Holds a relevant TA qualification or specialist training (e.g. ELKLAN).
