Job Summary:

Start your career at the intersection of finance and public impact. As an Analyst in Municipal Public Finance, you’ll collaborate with experienced bankers to help state and local governments build our nation’s infrastructure and bring transformational projects to life — from transportation to energy and utilities to education to housing and to healthcare. Your work will span financial modeling, credit rating preparation, investor presentations, RFPs, and the drafting of securities offering documents. Expect to grow your analytical skills while contributing to high-stakes transactions that directly shape communities. You’ll gain exposure across diverse sectors such as Higher Education, Transportation, Utilities, Sports Facilities, Public Private Partnerships, Renewables and more. As your experience builds, so does your influence. You’ll take on more strategic responsibilities, help structure deals, and deepen client relationships. The environment is fastmoving, intellectually challenging, and mission-driven — perfect for curious self-starters who want to see their efforts make a tangible difference.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Analyst:

* Understand Government Financing: You’ll get to know how cities, states, and public institutions finance new initiatives and projects, analyzing their finances and figuring out ways they can improve.
* Pitch Creative Financing Ideas: You’ll help senior bankers brainstorm new ways local governments can fund big projects, like building utilities, airports, schools, hospitals, or transit systems.
* Build Financial Models: You’ll dive into Excel to create financial simulations, helping forecast costs, savings, and repayment strategies for public projects.
* Research Your Sector: Stay updated on news, reports, and trends in your assigned industries and geographies, and keep the team informed about anything that might affect clients.
* Execute Deals: During financings, you’ll help analyze project revenues, create debt profiles, and assess refinancing and cash flow, all to make sure the financing makes sense.
* Prepare Client Presentations: Develop marketing skills by assisting in preparation of pitch books and proposals (RFPs) that help win business and communicate key information to clients.
* Develop Marketing Materials: Help design content that explains the deal or investment opportunity to prospective buyers and investors.
* Join Client Meetings: When possible, you’ll participate in meetings with municipal clients and project sponsors to learn firsthand how deals come together and how relationships are built.
