Healthcare Support Worker Theatres & Recovery
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, a leading health system in Scotland, invites applications for a full‑time Healthcare Support Worker in our Perioperative department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The role covers both recovery and theatre settings across a range of surgical specialties.
Responsibilities
 * Support Registered Practitioners in perioperative duties, ensuring smooth patient care during surgery and recovery.
 * Assist with equipment set‑up, patient positioning, and departmental cleaning to maintain a sterile environment.
 * Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the multidisciplinary team.
 * Complete theatre competency training and meet all mandatory induction standards.
 * Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and 24/7 rotations, with the possibility of multi‑site engagement.
Qualifications
 * Preferable experience in a perioperative or similar caring environment.
 * Strong interpersonal and team‑working skills.
 * Proficient numeracy and communication abilities.
 * PVG Scheme membership or Disability Disclosure Scotland Check required.
 * Willingness to undertake and complete the Health Care Support Worker competency training programme.
