Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Intervention Community Team within Birmingham Community Health Care NHS Foundation Trust, the largest community trust in the country.
Part of a wider Early Intervention programme, which has delivered in the last 12 months: 77,000 fewer acute bed days used, 19,000 fewer non-acute bed days and people spend 11.5 fewer days in the system. Overall having an impact of £25.8 million saved for Birmingham to reinvest in Health and Social Care developments.
Six health and social care organisations joined forces in the region to deliver this truly integrated service. Alongside BCHC, other partners include Birmingham City Council, University Hospitals Birmingham, Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust, Birmingham and Solihull CCG and Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
A person who is an excellent communicator with a flexible approach, and has existing, or an eagerness to establish, links with Health and Social care partners and a passion for \"trusted assessor\" principles, will be at an advantage when working in this team. You will have opportunities to support junior staff and students, as well as drive and lead in service development projects and quality patient care.
We run an excellent Inspire leadership training programme for all staff with line management responsibility, alongside other opportunities to develop your career.
HCPC/NMC registrations are a requirement for registered staff roles.
The post holder will be expected to work shifts as required over 7 days per week in line with service delivery.
Person specification
Qualifications/Training
* Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Current Health Care Professionals Council registration
Experience
* Demonstrate an understanding of MDT working.
* Relevant experience and evidence of reflective practice.
* Relevant experience of general rehabilitation and / or community experience
Skills/Knowledge
In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.
Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3 - 6) with the exception of those which appear on this list - link, will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.
All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.

DBS Costs
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with the Trust will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary in 3 payments over a 3-month period once you start employment. By applying for this role, you are agreeing to these deductions being made. The charges for the DBS include the administration fee. The total costs are £26.40 for a standard check and £54.40 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for. For bank workers the full cost of the DBS check (as detailed above) will be deducted from your pay following completion of your online mandatory training. No payment will be made for your online training until it is all complete and verified by the Temporary Staffing Team. Please note: You will not be able to work any bank shifts until you have completed your mandatory training, and your DBS is in place.
