My client seeks a dynamic and experienced Head ofpliance to join our leading law firm. This pivotal role also epasses the responsibilities of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), (with other titles/responsibilities to suit the individual) making it ideal for a well-roundedpliance expert ready to take the lead in a highly professional and collegiate environment.About the RoleAs Head ofpliance, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the firm’spliance framework, ensuring adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. You will act as the firm’s MLRO, managing anti-money laundering (AML) obligations and ensuring robust systems are in place to detect and prevent financial crime.Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the firm’spliance strategy and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
2. Act as the firm’s MLRO, overseeing AML policies, procedures, and reporting obligations.
3. Conduct regularpliance audits and risk assessments across all practice areas.
4. Provide expert guidance and training to partners and staff onpliance, AML, and regulatory matters.
5. Liaise with regulatory bodies, including the SRA and NCA, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
6. Manage internal investigations and respond to anypliance breaches or concerns.
7. Maintain and update the firm’spliance policies and procedures.
8. Monitor changes in legislation and regulation, advising the firm on necessary adjustments.
About You
9. Qualified solicitor or experiencedpliance professional with a strongpliance background at a law firm
10. In-depth knowledge of AML regulations and experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO.
11. Strong leadership,munication, and stakeholder management skills.
12. Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
13. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
