Job Description:
MCS Group is working with a large public sector employer in County Antrim to find an Environmental Health Officer. This role offers a 4-day work week, competitive salary, and potential for a longer contract. Location: Ballymena. Contract Length: 9 months with possible extension. Salary: £38.5k (Pro-rata).
Responsibilities:
* Conduct inspections, investigations, assessments across environmental health functions including public health, food safety, and housing.
* Enforce legislation, serve statutory notices, and prepare legal documentation.
* Act as an expert witness and provide reports for legal, planning, and public health matters.
* Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to support environmental health initiatives.
* Participate in planning reviews, health campaigns, and out-of-hours responses.
* Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and support training and administrative duties.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent experience.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
* At least 1 year of experience in a public sector environment.
* Knowledge of current environmental health legislation.
* Stakeholder engagement skills.
* Full valid driver's license and access to transport.
