Role Overview:
The Data & Business Insights Assistant will support the team in collecting, analysing and presenting business data to improve decision making across the company. This apprenticeship provides hands on experience with real business data and tools while completing the Data & Business Insights Apprenticeship.
You will gain exposure to data collection, analysis, reporting and data quality monitoring, alongside developing key soft skills in communication, problem solving and attention to detail. This role is designed to build a strong foundation for a future career in data analysis, business insights or related fields.
Key Responsibilities of Role:
* Data Collection & Preparation: assist in gathering data from databases, spreadsheets and internal systems.
* Data Analysis: support analysis using Excel, Power BI and Python; identify trends, patterns and outliers.
* Reporting & Visualisation: help create dashboards, reports, charts and tables for stakeholders.
* Data Quality Monitoring: carry out routine checks, highlight issues and support improvements.
* Learning & Development: complete all apprenticeship training, coursework and certifications; keep up to date with data handling and analytics best practices.
Day to Day Tasks:
* Collecting and preparing datasets from different business systems.
* Running basic analysis in Excel, Power BI or Python with guidance.
* Updating dashboards and producing simple reports.
* Checking datasets for accuracy, consistency and quality.
* Documenting processes and reporting findings clearly to senior team members.
* Attending training sessions and applying learning to live projects.
* Supporting colleagues with adhoc data or reporting tasks.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Basic IT literacy and an interest in data and analytics.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data.
* Good communication skills, able to explain simple findings clearly.
* Curious and willing to problem solve by digging in to data.
