Overview
An opportunity for a Marine Engineer - Electrical bias is available with my client who are a well established and highly respected Marine Services provider. Their ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role or Ship’s electrician or EOOW (Engineer Officer of the Watch).
Responsibilities
* Management of Marine Electrical Resources to carry out all electrical engineering functions within the Business.
* Provide support to the Vessel Superintendents, Technical Manager and Marine Manager in the Management of the Company’s Vessels.
* Provide support for the fleet of vessels.
* Assist to ensure Marine / Safety / Engineering Department databases are in date and maintained.
* Assist with preparation of docking specification, reports as well as maintenance.
* Supervision of electrical work and testing during surveys, dockings, overhauls and other repairs and timely communication with operational management on emergent issues affecting scope and cost of repair tasks.
* Liaise with Port authorities, Consultants, Shipyards, Contractors and Suppliers as required.
* Daily review and update HELM / Dynamics status of assigned vessels, for the relevant electrical tasks and defects.
* Coordinate with contractors and obtain quotations for work deemed necessary on assigned vessels, following the appropriate approval processes for sign-off.
* Ensure that electrical problems raised on-board the fleet are promptly investigated and rectified in a safe and consistent manner.
* Verify the vessels are compliant with relevant electrical legislation and requirements.
* With the ship’s engineer, partly responsible for the maintenance and updating of tasks on the ships HELM/Dynamics maintenance systems.
* Conduct periodic inspection, testing of safety devices and megger testing of all marine assets.
Requirements
* Proven experience in capacity of Ship’s electrician or (Engineer Officer of the Watch) or corresponding position.
* Experience in shipbuilding/ship repair industry.
* Thorough understanding of Diesel engines & propulsion systems control and monitoring systems.
* Competent IT skills with a good understanding of Excel.
* Thorough knowledge and experience of Risk Assessments, safe working practices, permit to work systems and lock-out, tag-out processes, and willing to develop and assist with the implementation of those systems, if needed.

Salary up to £45k, 8% pension (matched), Private medical, Annual pay reviews, 25 days holiday + bank holidays
