Bristol Bears Foundation is the official charity of Bristol Bears. We believe rugby is more than just a game. It’s our way for lasting change. We use rugby as tool to help tackle the impacts of inequality by inspiring healthier, stronger, and more connected communities across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.
We’re looking for a passionate and commercially driven Community Rugby Manager to lead our Community Rugby Team and help us deliver inclusive, impactful programmes that grow the game and change lives.
Your Role
As Community Rugby Manager, you’ll work closely with the Head of Projects & Development to lead the strategic development and delivery of our Community Rugby work across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. You’ll manage a dynamic team and a portfolio of programmes including:
- Project Rugby
- Women and Girls provision
- Club Connexion
- Super Sunday
- Player Development Camps
- Skills Masterclasses
You’ll also oversee our community matchday activations, building strong partnerships with schools and grassroots clubs, ensuring all activity is aligned with our strategy and values.
This is a hands-on leadership role that blends planning, delivery, and relationship-building - ideal for someone who’s passionate about inclusive sport, community engagement, and using rugby to create positive social impact.
What You’ll Bring

Essential:
- England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA) or RFU Level 2 Coaching Award (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to generate income through partnerships or commercial activity
- At least 3 years’ experience in coaching, teaching, or community sport delivery
- Experience managing projects and achieving measurable outcomes
- Strong leadership and line management skills
- Experience working with schools, clubs, and community organisations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS check and two relevant references
